General Information and Cultivation3: A small-size, moisture-loving Begonia, easy to cultivate. Growth habit is weeping. Begonia montis-elephantis prefers humid terrarium conditions with a small amount of ventilation. Tankquility cultures this clone at about 23° Celsius, in a granular substrate based on akadama and scoria. Fertilize moderately.
Leaf and stem propagation work with high success rate.
Note: This species suffers an extremely restricted distribution, low population number, and continuing threats to its habitat; consequently, it is classified as critically endangered (American Begonia Society website).
