Plant Name: Cryptocoryne nurii var. raubensis ‘Rosen Maiden’
Tankquility Catalogue #: TQ-01367
Synonyms/Trade Names:
Original Plant Sourced as: Cryptocoryne nurii ‘Rosen Maiden’
Plant Family: Araceae
Plant Native to1: Peninsular Malaysia (the crypts pages - http://www.cryptocoryneworld.org/index.php)
Plant Type: Semiaquatic
Image Details2:
Image 1: Cryptocoryne nurii var. raubensis ‘Rosen Maiden’ grown submerse in a greenhouse pond. High light levels keep the plant prostrate and produce intricate patterning of the leaves.
Image 2: Detail of the leaves of Cryptocoryne nurii var. raubensis ‘Rosen Maiden’ grown emerse in a terrarium. Gentle growing conditions produce leaf patterning similar to a submerse grown plant.
Image 3: Detail of the leaves of Cryptocoryne nurii var. raubensis ‘Rosen Maiden’ grown emerse in a greenhouse under mist. Harder growing conditions produce a plant with unpatterned green leaves.
General Information and Cultivation3: A small-size crypt, easy to cultivate submerse. Keep light intensity high and the plant will spread in a prostrate habit. Though originating from limestone areas, Cryptocoryne nurii var. raubensis ‘Rosen Maiden’ is adaptable to water (soft to hard) and substrate (slightly acid to alkaline) conditions.
Growing this crypt emerse is possible under high humidity/misting and low to moderate light intensity. Somewhat more difficult to grow emerse than other crypts; it may take a while to establish.
Identification Notes: Tankquility has flowered this clone and confirmed its identity as the variety raubensis, belonging to the species Cryptocoryne nurii.
Ease of Care: Easy
Plant Size/Portion Size:
Submerse grown plant: Medium-size plant with strong root development.
Emerse grown plant: Greenhouse grown medium-size plant with strong root development, green in colour due to growing conditions.
Scaper’s pot: Pot containing a minimum of 10 medium-size plants with strong root development. If the pot is found to contain fewer than 10 individuals, additional plants will be added.

Plants can alter their appearance due to seasonal influence, or in response to different environmental conditions or stage of maturity. This phenomenon is known as phenotypic plasticity, and it is especially evident in Aquatic/Semiaquatic plants. Whilst we endeavour to portray a plant accurately, the plant you receive may have been growing under different conditions or be at a different stage of maturity to the one in the image(s) provided.
